what's the total nature of this enthrallment? because if there's enough of a dissonance between his outward projection and his internal emotions, Phil's Spring Mantle will absolutely tattle on him, at least to anyone who knows how to read it. If this is a significant problem though I can just wave my hand over the wishy washy magic shit and say it's not an issue.
Their personality does not fundamentally change, but after Number 2 cracks their mind to implant his subliminal mandates, they will view his suggestions as reasonable and have a new fielty to him. The village suddenly seems like such a good idea they don't know why they thought it was so terrible. They want others to come to this realization, too, but they are aware that this will take some time and persuasion. So for now they are told to act naturally. Everything will be fine.
However, when/if the group decides to come at number 2 all at once, they will feel it is their duty to protect Number 2 even from the other passengers. When he gives the signal, they will switch to his side openly and fight for him.
LMAO SO........... in light of all this I really need to work out a timeline for the caper plotting. I am going to guess he got enthralled after concocting the idea and bringing people in, but now for the actual execution this is just an attempt to get people in trouble but he'll play it innocently? Like he's actually officially a double agent in this scheme now.

I will note, Number 2 is going to have to steer Phil clear away from directly endangering Darcy or Security (and perhaps even Ava now, because he Made A Promise) because there WILL start being problems--mostly that, well I don't know how much leeway we're given here but if there is literally any he will absolutely fulfill the trope of "mind-controlled person breaks control just enough to save their loved one" and this will probably happen by killing himself. Unless, y'know, 2 wants them to see their dad figure end it all in front of them, but then they'd Know something's Wrong.
Let a few thoughts marinate today and remembered that Skuls taught Rita a sort of 'alarm' sigil - magic to alert the user if someone steps foot in a location where it was set - with the hidden agenda that he'd also recognize it if she ever used it somewhere.
So if Number 2 allowed her to set this somewhere near or on the way to where Number 6 is being held, or where Number 2 himself might want to hang out during the capers, and presuming Skuls might accompany Ava on the rescue, that could be fun for him to recognize.
Oh, I like this. Might be especially useful with the Capers/Rescue plot that the ooc plotting post just went up for. Number 2 would think that's neat and let her do it.
